FLC’s Six-Figure Investment Played Critical Role in Flipping this GOP Seat
ORLANDO – The Florida Leadership Council – a group of more than 100 former legislators, elected officials and veteran Democratic activists – congratulates Tom Keen on his victory in the HD 35 special election.
The FLC partnered with the Florida House Democratic Campaign Committee on a voter turnout project in House District 35 that paved the way for Keen’s impressive victory. Since it began in August, this project has reached Democratic voters on the phone, by text message, and at their doors – enrolling nearly 7,000 Democrats and Democrat-leaning NPA voters in Vote By Mail and making sure that they returned their completed ballots. The FLC’s partnership with the Florida House Democratic Campaign Committee has included a six-figure investment.
“I’m thrilled to congratulate Tom on his impressive primary victory,” said Retired Marine Colonel and former State Senator Winston “Bud” Gardner. “This victory is a testament to Tom’s hard work, and also to the strong leadership of House Democratic Leader Fentrice Driskell and her team – working in close coordination with the FLC – to ensure that Tom had the support he needed. I know that Tom will work tirelessly to lower costs, protect women’s freedom, and support our public schools – and I can’t wait to see him sworn-in.”
Founded in 2022, the Florida Leadership Council seeks to rebuild leadership in Florida, get back to focusing on the real issues, and create an environment where working families can thrive for decades to come.
